The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Anambra State says it will soon conduct the primary election for Anambra Central Senatorial zone.
The announcement was made by the State Chairman of the party, Ken Emeakayi, during the solidarity visit of the 109 wards and seven local government executive committees of the PDP from Anambra Central Senatorial district.
According to Mr Emeakayi, the party at the state level would liaise with the national executive to fix a date for the primary election while the agitation for the release of Mr Olisah Metuh continues since the election has a time frame.
He called for calm among the members in the face of all the travails of the party, maintaining that it remained strong and formidable both in the state and at the national level.
The senatorial primary election was earlier suspended by the PDP in agitation for the release of the National Publicity Secretary of the PDP and leader of party in Anambra State, Mr Olisa Metuh, by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
