A bloody scene of the protest by Doctor and other medical workers in Imo State.
A peaceful protest by members of the Imo State chapter of the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) came to an abrupt end yesterday when policemen shot into their midst. The doctors had embarked on a protest to the Government House to lodge their grievances against government over alleged impunity in the health sector until they were forcibly dispersed by the police.
The report has that a renowned physician, Dr. Bede Azudialor, was shot by the police However, the Police denied the report.
One of the alleged grief is the appointment of a none medical personal as the Commissioner for Health in the state. blaming the government of not having direction in health matters.
