BAYELSANS SAY THEY HAVE DECIDED

The National Union of Ijaw Progressive Youth Movement has on Saturday said the good people of Bayelsa have abandoned Chief Timipre Sylva and pitched tent with the winning team of Hon. Seriake Dickson of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
A statement issued by the leader of the Movement, Ebitimi Stanley on Saturday, advised the APC-led federal government to ignore Timipre Sylva’s claim that he had the people’s support and a bright chance of winning the governorship election, describing it as a blatant lie.“Even the figures of votes that Silva is currently enjoying was as a result of heavy manipulation aided by machineries brought in for that singular purpose. Bayelsans have taken a stand; their stand is to continue enjoying the peace that they have become accustomed to the past four years. Their stand is to continue in the pace of development that is ongoing in the state. Their stand is to continue enjoying the true dividends of good governance.
“And this is a sound note of warning to the federal government and APC leadership that any move to subvert the will of the people will not augur well, not just for Bayelsa, but Nigeria as a whole.
“We call on the APC-led government at the centre to concentrate on bringing Nigerians out of the current varying issues weighing them down, instead of focusing all that energy on Bayelsa and our elections,” the movement said.
